MELT WITH MUD

MELT should and will be in your next wishlist for a music fest you should ever experience before you die. Even when the most pictures taken are not about the performers, VICE like as always, I must say, has well-captured the crowd's euphoria and its other built in story.

See some of the photos for your eyes only.

They even found these lovely girls and shot nice sequences for the fashion issue inspired by the event.

FOOD BALLET

This girl nails it all the time. She does both what most people including myself love; fashion and food, and she does them in a superbly genius way. But the food, in my opinion is her best talent, she can make a bestseller food photography book or maybe a masterpiece recipe book. The book itself should be collectible in every food or photography museum around the world. Yes, I heart LUXIRARE so much. Her hands, heart and eyes turn ordinary things into something graceful.

And oh I wish I could taste the jam and the lollipop she made. They are so luscious.

Now eat your heart out here

Summer Training

I recall someone once said in his twitter "It's not about where you are now, it's about where you're going"

Now I guess this is an inspiring example.
We admire them now when they are all big and famous, but long, long time a go before they have becoming someone, basically these famous designers are just like us, ordinary people, who also do summer jobs for some extra money. The different is that they fortunately could find a way to their golden path and rise.
So, shall we?

Betsey Johnson

"As a lifeguard at the country club pool in Wethersfield, Connecticut, I taught water ballet and kiddies how to swim."

Kate and Laura Mulleavy of RodarteLaura: "Our mom recently told us that we begged her to take us berry picking, and when we finally went, Kate picked one berry and said, 'OK…that was fun, can we go home?' "

Brian Wolk of Ruffian

"I worked at the Rag Shoppe, a fabric store down the street from my house. I used to ride my bicycle to work every day in various custom outfits that I made out of the fabric I bought there. My dad bought me a sewing machine, and I took sewing lessons from a local craft lady in the neighborhood. In this picture I am wearing an oversized cotton blazer that I fashioned for myself from a Vogue pattern."

Rachel Roy

"I have always worked in fashion from the age of 14 on. Folding T-shirts in the gift shop of the Monterey Bay Aquarium was my first summer job, and then salesgirl at Contempo Casuals—I loved the beautiful goth girls there, and the discount was amazing for a high school freshman with no money."

Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava

"The summer after college graduation, while we were starting Vena Cava on our living room floor, I worked at a really great vintage clothing store in Williamsburg called Fluke. I rode my bicycle to work every day and put together weird outfits like this to go out in. I think this picture was taken at an under-the-sea theme party."

Claude Morais of Ruffian

"When I was 17, I graduated from high school, got recruited by a local modeling agency in Montreal, and was sent on the first plane to Japan. This tear sheet was the first major job I landed that summer. It was shot in a beach house near Chiba on the outskirts of Tokyo. The picture was billboarded all over Tokyo and was posted in all the subways. My mother was very proud."
